Token Allowance Policy

Effective: 2026-05-12 · Version 2026-05-12

1. What is a token?

Every TrailerShopperAI subscription includes a monthly allowance of video tokens. A token is the unit of measure for AI video generation: 1 token = 1 × 20-second video. Longer videos consume proportionally more tokens, because they cost us proportionally more in AI generation, voice synthesis, music, and rendering compute.

2. Per-length token cost

The token cost per render is fixed and visible at checkout. Cost scales with both video length and output resolution:

Video lengthTokens @ 720p (default)Tokens @ 1080p (HD)
20 seconds1 token1.5 tokens
40 seconds1.6 tokens2.4 tokens
60 seconds2.2 tokens3.3 tokens
80 seconds2.8 tokens4.2 tokens
100 seconds3.4 tokens5.1 tokens
120 seconds4 tokens6.0 tokens

720p is the default and what every plan's token allowance assumes. 720p plays identical to 1080p on phones (where Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok transcode uploads to 720p regardless). 1080p costs 1.5× tokens and is intended for YouTube long-form or embedding on your dealer website.

3. Tier allowances are TOKEN budgets

When a tier advertises "25videos / month," that means 25 tokensper month. You can spend them on 25 twenty-second videos, OR fewer longer ones, OR any mix:

4. Subscription tokens reset on your billing-period anniversary

Your monthly token allowance is granted on the day each billing period starts (the date you first subscribed) and is consumed as you render videos. Unused subscription tokens do not roll over. On the next billing period's grant, the unused balance from the previous period is zeroed out and a fresh allowance is issued.

This policy is intentional: it lets us match COGS to the period you paid for. Rolling tokens forward forever would mean a dealer who paused for 6 months could come back and burn 6 months' worth of AI generation in a single weekend, at our cost.

5. Gifted and purchased tokens NEVER expire

Tokens granted to you outside your subscription — whether purchased as overage (when you exceed your monthly allowance and pre-pay for more) or gifted by a TSAI staff member — never expire. They sit in your balance permanently, and are spent only after your subscription tokens are exhausted in a given period.

6. Add-ons are billed separately from tokens

Paid add-ons consume your add-on cash wallet — a cents-denominated balance that is independent of tokens. You top up the wallet with PayPal at any time; balances never expire. Current add-on pricing:

A render that uses an add-on consumes BOTH a token (for the underlying video) AND wallet cents (for the add-on). If your wallet has insufficient balance the render is rejected at submission; you top up and re-submit.

7. Refunds for failed renders

If a render fails after we have already deducted tokens or wallet cents from your account, we automatically refund both — within minutes, into the same balances they came from. This is the only refund path on TSAI; consumed renders that produce a deliverable video are non-refundable.

8. We may change this policy

The token cost per length, the per-tier allowance count, and add-on retail prices may all change. We bump the policy version (the date at the top of this page) when we make a material change. The next time you subscribe or change plans after a version bump, the checkout flow will require you to re-accept the new version.

9. Disputes

If you believe your token balance or wallet has been miscounted, contact support. We retain a complete append-only ledger of every grant, gift, purchase, consumption, and refund — your dispute is settleable from that record. Do not initiate a chargeback for a billing dispute before contacting support; chargebacks against an active TSAI subscription will result in account suspension per the Terms of Service.

By subscribing to TrailerShopperAI you agree this policy is the basis of your monthly video allowance. The 8-point disclaimer at every quota touchpoint summarizes this page; the full text above is authoritative.
